Azad Engineering, based in Hyderabad, has secured a major contract worth $53.5 million with GE Vernova’s Steam Power Services. The agreement involves producing advanced components called airfoils used in nuclear and thermal power plants.
The deal will run for six years, ending in 2030. During this time, Azad Engineering will manufacture both rotating and stationary airfoils. These parts play a key role in improving efficiency and performance in power generation systems, especially in nuclear, industrial, and thermal energy sectors.
To meet the demands of this contract, Azad recently opened a new 7,600-square-meter manufacturing facility. This advanced plant uses lean production methods to handle large-scale output more efficiently.
“This long-term agreement boosts our global presence in the power generation industry,” said Rakesh Chopdar, Chairman and CEO of Azad Engineering. “It also confirms our strength in delivering precision-engineered solutions for critical energy applications.”
Azad Engineering is actively expanding its operations. The company is investing heavily in technology and infrastructure to support its partnerships with global OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). The firm already serves major industries like aerospace, defense, energy, and oil & gas.
This latest deal further deepens Azad’s relationship with GE Vernova and positions the company as a key supplier in the global clean and thermal energy supply chain.
