Hyderabad: On Thursday, Walashan Nawab Azmet Jah Bahadur, the ninth titular Nizam of Hyderabad, reaffirmed his dedication to education and honored his late father’s vision by pledging ongoing support for Mukarram Jah School students at Purani Haveli.
During the graduation ceremony, Nawab Azmet Jah, in his first speech at the school established by his father, Nawab Mir Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah Bahadur, the eighth titular Nizam, received a Guard of Honour. Speaking from the newly restored Asaf Jah Hall at the historic site, he praised the graduates and announced new merit-based scholarships for the next academic year.
“Follow careers that match your dreams. Your future is bright,” the Nizam encouraged, urging students to pursue their passions confidently.
He visited the school with trustees from the Mukarram Jah Trust for Education and Learning (MJTEL) after attending the Sacred Relics Trust meeting earlier that day.
At Musarath Mahal, MJTEL trustee Faiz Khan stressed the importance of quality education and personal choice. He urged, “Good education is irreplaceable. It’s not just about engineering or medicine—follow your passion,” and encouraged parents to support their children’s choices.
Speakers remembered Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur’s dedication to education, noting his significant donations of the Purani Haveli complex, including eight Mahals and the Masarath Mahal Palace, for educational purposes in Hyderabad.
MJTEL trustee Faiz Bin Jung congratulated the graduates and acknowledged their success. Trustees Mr. Khaleel Ahmed and Secretary Col S. Andiappan (Retd.) were also present.
Principal Rekha Wadhee delivered the annual report, commending the students and urging them to enter the world with kindness, hope, and intelligence.
The event ended with Nawab Azmet Jah engaging with students and faculty, celebrating as students joyfully tossed their caps into the air.
