The State BJP chief, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accused the State government and police of ruining the lives of students. He made this statement after meeting with ABVP leader Jhansi in Hyderabad. Bandi claimed that the KCR government had sold itself and ruined the lives of students. He also accused some police officials of harassing ABVP leaders to get promotions and crossing legal boundaries.
Bandi questioned the admissions of 4,000 students by Guru Nanak and Srinidhi Universities without obtaining private university status. He also questioned whether engineering admissions could be conducted before counselling. He criticised the harassment and filing of cases against students for protesting at the State Higher Education Council for justice and action against universities that violated norms.
The Karimnagar MP said that ABPV State secretary Jhansi was subjected to third-degree torture by police for leading protests. Jhansi was targeted and locked in a room with no CCTV cameras and beaten with batons. The police then created evidence to claim that she attacked them and filed false charges against her. Bandi demanded action against the police, including the ACP responsible for using third-degree methods on Jhansi.
Bandi also condemned Minister V Srinivas Goud’s alleged comments on Dalits, calling them “third-class fellows.” He pointed out that it was because of Ambedkar’s Constitution that Goud could become an MLA and minister; otherwise, he might be seeking alms.
