Hyderabad: Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, recently asked Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to release funds from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). This request aims to address pending road expansion projects in Telangana. On Tuesday, Sanjay Kumar met Gadkari in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum that outlined these issues. He highlighted the pending road projects from his parliamentary constituency during their discussion.
The proposals submitted to Gadkari total Rs 113 crore. These include building a high-level bridge over the Maneru River on the Bavupeta-Khazipur road in Kothapalli mandal and expanding the Gundlapalli-Pothur road in Ganneruvaram mandal. Other projects involve constructing bridges from Chandurthi to Motkuraopet and on the road to Kistampalli. There is also a planned high-level bridge over the flood canal from Arkandla village to Kannapur village in Shankarapatnam mandal. Gadkari responded positively, promising a swift decision on releasing CRIF funds to Telangana.
Additionally, Sanjay Kumar urged immediate action on the long-delayed widening of the Karimnagar-Jagityala road. He reminded Gadkari that before the last elections, the Central government had prepared plans worth Rs 2151 crore to upgrade this road to four lanes. Officials had assured approval and the start of the tender process, but progress has stalled. In response, Gadkari called for senior officials to explain the delays.
Gadkari explained that the Karimnagar-Jagityala road project had encountered public objections and legal issues, causing setbacks. However, these problems have been resolved, and the report is now with the approval committee. He assured that once the committee approves, the tender process will be completed, and the road widening will start soon.
