Gadwal:
Dr. M.N. Vijay Kumar, State Vice President of the Bahujan Class Teachers’ Association (BCTA), has urged the government to act quickly on promoting around 800 pending Language Pandit positions in Telugu and Hindi. He stressed that these promotions should be completed before the new academic year begins.
Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Vijay Kumar said many upgraded Language Pandit posts remain vacant across the state. He asked the government to fill these positions through promotions as soon as possible.
He also asked officials to reinstate earlier promotion orders that were issued monthly but later paused. According to him, all teacher transfers and promotions across different roles must be completed before schools reopen.
Dr. Vijay Kumar raised concerns about the serious shortage of support staff in government schools. He called for the immediate release of funds to hire record assistants, watchmen, cleaning staff, and for cooking agency contracts. He pointed out that many schools, especially in rural areas, lack proper infrastructure and resources.
He demanded that the government release the overdue Dearness Allowance (DA) and implement the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) recommendations. He also emphasized the need to promote long-pending positions like Junior Lecturers, Deputy DEOs, and Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) without further delay.
Dr. Vijay Kumar further requested the quick disbursement of GPF Part Final funds and all pending dues owed to retired teachers. To strengthen foundational language learning in primary schools, he called for the recruitment of qualified Telugu, Hindi, and Urdu teachers.
Several key figures, including Gazetted Headmasters Abel, Nagaraju, Prabhakar, and Aruna, were present at the event and supported the demands.
