Hyderabad: The Telangana State government has decided to expand the Bhu Bharati pilot project to 28 zones in early May. This decision comes after gaining useful insights from the project’s implementation in four zones.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari held a video conference with district Collectors to discuss various topics, including Bhu Bharati, Indiramma Indlu, and the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS). The Minister said that the Bhu Bharati Act would be rolled out in 28 zones across 28 districts, excluding Hyderabad.
Before this rollout, Revenue officials from the zones where the pilot project is already running will conduct a workshop. This training will include Tahsildars, Deputy Tahsildars, and two other officers from each of the new zones. Awareness programs about Bhu Bharati have already been held in 159 out of the 605 zones across the State.
The Minister also directed that any pending land-related applications at the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) level should be discussed in the revenue meetings being held in the pilot zones.
From April 17, revenue meetings have taken place in 16 villages, covering 56 revenue villages across four mandals involved in the pilot project. These meetings have received 1,076 land-related applications so far.
Due to the approaching rainy season, the Minister urged officials to speed up the selection of beneficiaries for the Indiramma housing scheme. He stressed that this process must be completed by the first week of May and that funds should be released only after the construction of the houses is complete.
Lastly, the Minister confirmed that there will be no extension of the deadline for the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS), which is set to end on April 30.
