Bingidoddi, a village in Gadwal, has come together to honor Dr. B.R. Ambedkar after a recent act of disrespect shocked the community. Someone threw mud on a banner featuring Ambedkar, the man who wrote the Indian Constitution, sparking outrage among villagers.

The community didn’t stay silent. Locals, including members of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS), took swift action. They lodged a formal complaint with the police. MRPS leaders like Aiza Raju Madiga, Konkala Bhimanna Madiga, Minor Babu Madiga, and Balgery Esanna Madiga strongly condemned the act, calling it deeply offensive.

“This wasn’t just about Ambedkar. It was an insult to all of us,” said villagers in a joint statement. Currently, the village has no statue of Dr. Ambedkar. That’s about to change.

In a gram sabha meeting, residents decided to install a statue of Ambedkar as a mark of respect. They plan to finalize a location within a few days and conduct a bhoomi pooja, or groundbreaking ceremony, before construction begins.

The villagers want more than just a statue. They aim to send a strong message of unity and equality — values that Ambedkar stood for. They’re determined to respond to hate with dignity and action.

MRPS leaders warned that such incidents could create divisions. They urged everyone to stay united. “Don’t let troublemakers break the peace. We fully support your decision,” they told the villagers.

The meeting was attended by local police, including Sub-Inspector Aiza and Circle Inspector Tata Babu from Shanti Nagar. CI Tata Babu stressed the need for communal harmony and promised strict action against anyone trying to stir trouble.

People from all walks of life — youth, elders, and social leaders — stood together during the meeting. Their united front shows that the village is ready to uphold Ambedkar’s legacy with pride and stand firm against disrespect.
