Hyderabad: The BJP in Telangana has raised serious concerns about how the state is being governed.
According to BJP spokesperson N.V. Subash, the Congress-led government is not being run by the elected Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, but instead by Meenakshi Natarajan, the Congress party’s state in-charge. Subash claimed that Natarajan, who holds no official government post, is making key decisions and holding meetings with ministers and officials at the state secretariat.
Subash said this situation is a threat to democracy, as it weakens the authority of the elected Chief Minister. He pointed to an example where the Irrigation Secretary reportedly ignored the Chief Minister’s calls about a Government Order, suggesting confusion and a breakdown in the chain of command.
The BJP spokesperson also criticized the Congress government for clearing trees from forest land near the University of Hyderabad without proper environmental approval. He called this move arrogant and insensitive to public opinion.
Subash urged the people of Telangana to question whether their state is truly being run by their elected leaders or by someone behind the scenes. He warned that allowing such practices could harm the democratic system in the long run.
