Hyderabad: With Hanuman Jayanti set to take place on Saturday, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand held a video conference with police officers to review security plans. The main focus was to ensure a peaceful and smooth celebration of the Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatra.
During the meeting, Commissioner Anand discussed precautions based on incidents from previous years. He asked officers to pay special attention to key intersections where smaller processions are expected to join the main route. Extra police forces will be deployed in sensitive areas, especially near religious places, and continuous monitoring will be carried out in these locations.
The Commissioner instructed all Station House Officers to personally inspect the yatra route, which includes Sri Ram Mandir in Gowliguda and Bible House, leading to the Tadban Hanuman Temple. They must look out for possible problems along the route and report them quickly to the authorities for action.
Organisers were asked not to use DJ music systems during the procession to avoid causing discomfort to the public and devotees. The use of drone cameras is also banned unless special permission is granted by the authorities.
The police have prohibited the bursting of firecrackers, throwing them at others, and spreading colored powder, or gulal, on the public. Displaying provocative banners is also not allowed. Organisers must keep the number of vehicles in the procession to a minimum and ensure that no one from other communities causes disruptions.
Citizens have been advised not to believe or spread rumors on social media. Sharing fake or provocative messages can lead to legal action. The police are also taking steps to prevent crimes like pickpocketing and chain snatching during the event.
Several top officials, including Additional Commissioner of Law and Order Vikram Singh Mann, DCP Special Branch S. Chaitanya Kumar, DCP IT Cell Pushpa, and other officers, joined the virtual meeting to discuss and finalize the security arrangements.
