Gadwal: A team from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by former Jogulamba Gadwal district president S. Ramachandra Reddy, visited Alampur town to inspect facilities built under the central government’s PRASAD Scheme. These facilities were meant to help pilgrims visiting the famous Jogulamba Temple. However, the BJP leaders expressed disappointment that the state government has not yet put these facilities to use.
The inspection was organized by Alampur Town BJP President M. Sharath Babu. The team checked the dining hall and accommodation blocks built using funds from the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) Scheme. Speaking to the media, Ramachandra Reddy criticized the state government and the Endowments Department for failing to make the completed facilities available to the public.
He explained that in 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated ₹80 crore to improve infrastructure in Alampur for temple visitors. But only ₹36.72 crore has been used so far. Even the completed buildings, like the dining and lodging areas, are still closed to pilgrims because the state government has not taken action.
Reddy questioned how long the state government would take to open these facilities. He asked if the problems faced by devotees mattered to the administration. He also blamed Endowments Minister Konda Surekha for the lack of progress and urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take immediate steps.
He pointed out that the current dining area near the temple is not in good condition and causes discomfort to visitors. He demanded that the dining services be moved to the new building to offer better hygiene and comfort.
The BJP leaders also suggested introducing electric vehicles to help devotees move around more easily. They called for the immediate opening of the new accommodation facilities built with central funds.
The event was attended by several BJP leaders, including Alampur MLA candidate Rajagopal, State BJYM Vice President Rajashekar Sharma, Alampur Mandal BJP President Eshwar, District Council Member Rangaswamy, and Town BJP General Secretaries Naresh, Mahesh, and Parushuram.
The BJP team promised to continue protesting until the state government takes action and provides the necessary infrastructure for visitors to the Jogulamba Temple.
