Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party has promised full support to the people facing eviction due to the Musi river beautification project. They assured the residents that no demolitions would take place without resistance, saying that the bulldozers would have to go through them before reaching the affected houses.
People living along the Musi river in different areas invited BRS leader T. Harish Rao to discuss their concerns. Although Rao was initially scheduled to visit Hydershakote, the residents from colonies along the river requested him to meet them and understand their pain.
Harish Rao criticized the current government, led by Revanth Reddy, for its demolition drive. He demanded that the government focus on helping poor people first and then consider beautifying the Musi river. Rao also suggested that instead of making grand promises, the government should take practical steps to stop sewage from polluting the river. He accused the Chief Minister of using the Musi beautification project as an excuse for real estate deals.
In his speech, Rao assured the affected residents that the BRS would protect them from what he called “Congress’s bulldozer politics.” He criticized the Chief Minister’s approach to the situation and promised that the BRS would safeguard the homes of those impacted. “Call us if you’re in trouble. We will be there within 30 minutes. No bulldozer will touch your homes without crossing us first,” Harish Rao stated, showing his firm stance against the evictions.
He further criticized the government’s priorities and suggested that Rahul Gandhi should replace the Congress party’s symbol with a bulldozer, highlighting his disapproval of the ongoing demolition activities.
