Hyderabad: Leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have urged the Central Government to stop Operation Kagar in Chhattisgarh and instead begin peaceful talks with the Maoists.
K Kavitha, a Member of the Legislative Council and daughter of BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, called for an immediate end to the military operation. She stressed that the problem of Naxalism should be solved through discussion, not violence.
“Operation Kagar is happening in Chhattisgarh. We believe that violence is not the way forward. The government should stop this operation and invite the Maoists for dialogue,” said Kavitha. She added that a political solution is the only long-term answer to the issue.
Kavitha expressed confidence that all political parties in the country would support peace talks. She emphasized that using force only leads to more suffering, especially for young people and tribal communities caught in the conflict.
Earlier, K Chandrashekar Rao, also known as KCR, supported the idea of peace talks. He criticized the ongoing operations, saying they harm innocent people and go against the values of democracy.
The BRS leaders insisted that true peace can only come through negotiation. They appealed to the Union Government to stop using force and focus on finding a peaceful, political solution to the decades-long conflict.
The party’s message is clear: end the violence, start talking, and work toward lasting peace.
