Hyderabad: On Friday, BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) leaders accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of extensive phone tapping. They claimed he targeted political opponents, members of his own party, celebrities, and even participants in the Miss World contest.
BRS MLAs Padi Kaushik Reddy and K Sanjay shared these allegations at a press conference. Kaushik Reddy stated that Revanth Reddy admitted to phone tapping by officials. He called for the Central government to involve the CBI and ED in investigating Revanth Reddy’s actions. Kaushik Reddy alleged that phones of key BRS figures like KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao, along with Congress and BJP leaders, were under surveillance. He claimed that 118 MLAs, 17 MPs, and MLCs were affected, and accused Revanth Reddy of hiring private hackers to tap phones of celebrities for blackmail.
He also mentioned that the phones of Miss World pageant participants were tapped. Kaushik Reddy claimed even his wife’s phone was monitored, allowing Revanth Reddy to access their private conversations. He alleged that Revanth Reddy overheard talks between two ministers and reprimanded one of them. Kaushik Reddy questioned why no case was filed based on their complaint against phone tapping and vowed to hold Revanth Reddy accountable until the “six guarantees” are fulfilled. He insisted that KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao never resorted to phone tapping.
MLA K Sanjay accused Revanth Reddy of being obsessed with phone tapping and leaks. He criticized Revanth Reddy’s history, calling it deceitful, and cited Revanth’s claim that his own phone wasn’t tapped as the reason he wasn’t summoned by the SIT. Sanjay shockingly claimed Revanth Reddy was also tapping the phone of Telangana Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan.
Sanjay referenced a letter from Sonia Gandhi, shown by Revanth Reddy the previous day, as evidence of his falsehoods. Despite the letter’s content, Sanjay accused Revanth Reddy of exaggerating its significance, likening it to receiving an Oscar or Nobel Prize, which he believed harmed Telangana’s dignity.
