The BRS leadership is concerned about the weakening of the party in most Lok Sabha segments for the upcoming general elections. Former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao only expects to win two or three MP seats as the party is losing support from its members in many areas. Some BRS candidates are not strong enough to compete against Congress and BJP candidates in certain segments.

The party faced setbacks when sitting BRS MPs from Chevella, Zaheerabad, and Peddapalli quit, causing a major blow before the elections. BRS MLA K Srihari and his daughter Kavya joined the Congress, forcing the party to find new candidates for the elections in the Warangal Lok Sabha segment. In Nalgonda, the BRS struggled to find a strong candidate to challenge the confident Congress candidate.

The BRS leaders acknowledge that winning in the Lok Sabha elections will not be easy. The party was once strong in over 12 Lok Sabha segments, but has lost influence in most areas except Medak and Karimangar Parliament constituencies. The poaching of BRS leaders by Congress and BJP has further destabilized the party, making it unlikely to win seats in the current political climate. KCR is evaluating the changing political landscape and may make crucial decisions to improve the party’s chances in five segments before the elections – Chevella, Khammam, Nalgonda, Bhongir, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool, which are considered strongholds of BJP and Congress.
