Hyderabad: Allegations of corruption against KTR and Kavitha related to the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) have been dismissed by BRS leaders. They claim the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is now a “conspiracy hub.”
At a press meeting, former Telangana Sports Authority Chairman Dr. Anjaneya Goud accused the CMO of creating conspiracies. He said recent reports linking KTR, Kavitha, and Raj Pakal to an HCA scam are fabricated, aimed to benefit Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s followers financially.
Goud questioned past actions during Azharuddin’s time as HCA president when a committee reported irregularities. He wondered if irregularities were ignored when Vivek was president. Both Azharuddin and Vivek were in the Congress party, so Goud demanded accountability. He claimed Revanth Reddy invited a BCCI official during the Miss World event to plan an HCA takeover. He accused MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Rohin Reddy of conspiring to defame HCA and make Rohin the HCA president, questioning MP Gaddam Vamsi’s recent comments about HCA.
Goud criticized BJP leader D Guruva Reddy, who filed the HCA complaint, calling him “anonymous.” He questioned how reports suggested Reddy’s complaint could tarnish KTR’s image. Goud stressed HCA’s century-long history, asserting that all transaction records are transparent. He accused Revanth Reddy of exploiting sports for financial gain and dismissed claims about IPL food contracts with KTR’s relatives as lies.
Goud highlighted that all HCA contracts were in the secretary’s name, questioning if Secretary Devaraj was protected by Congress leader Keshav Rao and why Devaraj was listed as A2 instead of A1. He mentioned multiple cheating cases against complainant Guruva Reddy, questioning the credibility of his claims.
The BRS leader demanded an inquiry into the cost of Uppal Stadium, which rose from an estimated Rs 20 crore to Rs 100 crore. BRSV President Gellu Srinivas Yadav, former corporation chairman Palle Ravikumar, and BRS leaders Mahipal Mudiraj and Bachu Srinivas also attended the press conference.
