Hyderabad – Internal tensions are rising within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) as the party considers taking action against MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla. In response, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the party’s working president, warned that “covert” members working against the party from within will soon be revealed.
Speaking at a press conference, KTR emphasized that BRS supports open dialogue and internal democracy. He said party members are free to write to the leadership about their concerns, but those issues should be discussed privately, not in public.
He referred to recent letters sent by several BRS leaders, including during the party’s major gathering near Warangal on April 27. Many had submitted suggestions to party president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). KTR added that similar feedback came in during the Parliament elections.
Addressing his sister Kavitha’s recent controversial remarks—that “demons” were influencing their father and party chief KCR—KTR played down the statement. He insisted that while everyone has the right to speak, sensitive matters must remain inside the party.
KTR also launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, demanding his immediate resignation. His name recently appeared in an Enforcement Directorate (ED) chargesheet linked to the National Herald–Young Indian case.
Calling it a “deep insult to Telangana,” KTR said if Revanth had any sense of morality, he should step down at once. He criticized the BJP’s silence on the issue, especially when their leaders in Karnataka have openly targeted Congress leaders like D.K. Shivakumar in the same case.
“This silence shows a secret alliance between BJP and Congress in Telangana,” KTR claimed. He questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is protecting what he called a “corrupt” Congress leadership in the state.
He accused the Congress of using Telangana as a financial source, saying, “Telangana has become an ATM for the Congress high command.” KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy regularly funnels money to Delhi to keep his position secure.
“Revanth is damaging Telangana’s image across the country,” KTR concluded, urging citizens to see through what he described as a dangerous political partnership between state and national leaders.
