BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Alleges Booth Irregularities and Police Inaction During Jubilee Hills By-Election

BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar has expressed strong outrage over alleged electoral malpractices during the Jubilee Hills by-election, claiming serious irregularities occurred at specific polling locations in the constituency.

The MLC specifically pointed to booths 66 and 67 near Al Falah School in the Shaikpet division, where he alleged multiple violations took place. According to Sravan Kumar, booth agents were threatened and intimidated during the polling process.

In a scathing criticism, the BRS leader accused the police of maintaining silence despite being informed about the threats faced by booth agents. He demanded immediate action against what he termed as police negligence and misconduct by Congress supporters.

Dasoju Sravan Kumar drew a stark comparison, stating that the Jubilee Hills by-election resembled elections in Bihar state, known for electoral malpractices. He alleged that voters were being influenced through various means.

The MLC listed several alleged violations, including the distribution of money on main roads, distribution of sarees and pressure cookers, and direct voter bribery. These allegations point to systematic attempts to influence voter behavior through material inducements.

Beyond monetary inducements, Sravan Kumar also accused Congress workers of engaging in rowdyism and threatening both voters and BRS party workers. He claimed that violence was used as a tool to intimidate opposition supporters and influence the electoral outcome.

Speaking about the incidents, Dasoju Sravan Kumar stated that while engaging in rowdyism, Congress supporters threatened voters and BRS party workers and resorted to violence, creating an atmosphere of fear around polling stations.
