Hyderabad: The BRS has taken legal action against individuals spreading harmful and false information about its leaders.
The party is sending legal notices to digital media outlets and influencers accused of sharing misleading and “paid” content about former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and former Minister K T Rama Rao. According to the BRS, they suspect these platforms are financially backed by the ruling Congress Party to spread falsehoods, create confusion, and damage the reputation of the previous administration.
The BRS demands the immediate removal of such content and warns of strict legal consequences if the demands are ignored. Some entities have already taken down the offensive material, but others continue to spread this “false propaganda” without verifying facts.
The legal notices accuse the content of intentionally deceiving the public without evidence. They claim the videos aim to “shock viewers, mislead society, and harm the reputation of respected leaders.” Additionally, the notices argue that this content could cause reputational harm and is likely shared for “undue publicity, financial gain, and political purposes.”
