The Chief of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K Chandrashekar Rao, does not seem interested in continuing politics in Maharashtra, Odisha, and other states. He is avoiding meeting leaders who are worried about their political future.
After changing its name from TRS to BRS, the party announced its next target as Maharashtra. The party appointed Vamshidhar Rao as its in-charge in the state. Leaders in Maharashtra showed interest in joining the BRS. KCR visited several towns in Maharashtra for public meetings. However, after losing in the recent Assembly elections, KCR was away from public life due to an accident. Other party leaders have been holding meetings to review the results for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The leaders from Maharashtra came to Hyderabad to inquire about their prospects for the upcoming elections. However, they were told that they could not meet KCR because he was recovering from surgery. The leaders wanted a quick decision from KCR so that they could plan their future actions.
In Odisha, BRS leader Giridhar Gamang has already left the party and joined the Congress. There has been no progress in entering Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. It is unclear whether the party will contest in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.
Overall, KCR seems to be avoiding politics in neighboring states and there is uncertainty among party leaders regarding their future actions.
