Hyderabad: Officials from the Central Crime Station took former IAS officer RP Singh into custody on Wednesday due to a land dispute.
RP Singh was detained at his home before being taken to the CCS police station for questioning. The dispute involves 10.32 guntas of land located in Survey No. 19 at Khajaguda in the Raidurgam area. RP Singh and his wife, Harvinder Singh, claimed ownership of this land.
The land had been previously allocated to a construction company for building a commercial complex. However, the company later discovered that a gift deed transferred some of the land to their daughter’s name. This deed was revoked, stating their daughter was in the United States.
In 2023, the construction company filed a complaint with the Raidurgam police station against RP Singh, accusing him of hiding the issue and allowing the land to be developed. The CCS police started an investigation after the company sought a loan from a bank.
The commercial complex is now partially built, with about 700 customers already having invested. Due to the absence of the loan, the project remains incomplete.
As a result, the CCS police have registered a case and detained the former IAS officer.
