A fire drill took place at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on Wednesday. The goal was to show how to handle fire emergencies effectively.
The TGiCCC building is equipped with modern firefighting tools, including an advanced Building Management System (BMS) with automatic lift circuit braking. The drill began with the fire alarm sounding and announcements over the Public Address System (PAS) across all building floors.
A fire scenario was simulated on the 17th floor of Tower-A at 3 pm. Following safety procedures, all lifts were turned off, and 830 people were evacuated by designated Fire Marshals and Assistant Fire Marshals using the stairs. Everyone gathered at the Assembly Point near the National Flag Post on the ground floor.
Emergency services, including Fire Services, Police, and Health departments, responded quickly. The exercise showed how important it is for different agencies to work together in emergencies.
After the evacuation, a debriefing session took place at the Assembly Point. Sandeep Shandilya, Director of EAGLE (Anti Narcotic Bureau), stressed the importance of employees participating in self-evacuation.
VB Kamalasan Reddy, Director of TGiCCC, praised the teamwork of all the emergency departments and building staff. He briefed Fire Marshals on the proper use of fire safety equipment and the significance of knowing the building’s safety features, like the refugee area.
A report on the drill, with photos and videos, was prepared by TGiCCC. This information will help improve safety procedures and training in the future. This drill followed a previous one on June 9 and training for Fire Marshals on June 20.
