Bhadrachalam: The grand celebrations of Sri Rama Navami, known as the Vasant Paksha Prayukta Navahnika Thiru Kalyana Brahmotsavams, came to an end on Saturday at the Ram Kshetra temple.
On the final day, priests carried out a special ritual called Chakrasnanam in the Godavari River during the morning. This ritual marked the conclusion of this year’s Brahmotsavams.
The festival began on March 30, which also marked the Ugadi festival and the start of the Sri Vishwa Vasunam year. On that day, devotees took part in a neem pooja and received prasad. A special sacred bath called Panchamritabhishekam was performed for the deities Sri Seetha and Ramachandra Swamy.
Later in the evening, a new calendar was prepared at Mithila Stadium. The following days included many important rituals such as writing the festival flag on April 2, Garuda Divasam, Agni Pratishtha, Dhwajarohana (flag hoisting), the divine wedding ceremony Sri Sitara Mula Thiru Kalyanam, and Sri Rama Punarvasu Deeksha — all held to celebrate Sri Rama Navami.
