Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asked all district collectors to make sure the Bhu Bharathi Act is properly carried out at the local level. This law was created after a lot of research to solve land problems that farmers often face. The Chief Minister said it’s important to hold awareness meetings in every mandal (administrative block) and told collectors to attend these meetings themselves. He also asked them to explain the law to farmers and the public in simple language so everyone can understand.
The Chief Minister spoke about this during a Collectors’ Conference held at the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRD) in Hyderabad. He also gave instructions on the Indiramma Housing Scheme and plans to ensure safe drinking water during the summer.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, other cabinet ministers, government advisors, top officials, and all district collectors were present at the meeting.
Revanth Reddy said both the Bhu Bharathi Act and the Indiramma Housing Scheme are important projects for the government. He asked collectors to give special attention to how these programs are carried out in the field.
He told the collectors to carefully study the Bhu Bharathi Act. In the past, farmers often had to go to court because there were no proper ways to solve land issues through the administration. Now, the Bhu Bharathi Act gives the revenue department the power to settle these problems, and there is also an appeal system. The Chief Minister said it is important for people to know about these new changes.
To spread awareness, pilot meetings will be held in Maddur (Narayanpet), Nelakondapalli (Khammam), Lingampet (Kamareddy), and Venkatapur (Mulugu). Collectors are required to attend these meetings and make sure similar sessions are held in every village, with the help of revenue officials. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and other ministers will also take part in these meetings.
On the Indiramma Housing Scheme, the Chief Minister said that lists of eligible people made by village-level committees should be checked by mandal-level committees. After that, the lists will be sent to the district in-charge ministers, who will give final approval.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, the Chief Secretary has been told to appoint a special officer for each constituency. These officers will help coordinate between the Indiramma Committees, mandal officials, collectors, and ministers.
Finally, the Chief Minister reminded everyone to be alert about drinking water supply during the summer. He told collectors to work closely with the irrigation, drinking water, and electricity departments. He said water sources in every village should be watched carefully to prevent shortages.
