    The National Children’s Rights Day was celebrated in Mulugu on Thursday with great enthusiasm. The event was led by District Welfare Officer K. Sirisha. District Collector Divakar, who was the chief guest, extended his greetings to the children and highlighted the importance of knowing their rights. He called children a “priceless asset” to society.

    Divakar explained that when children understand their rights, it can help reduce violence against them. He encouraged both boys and girls to study hard and succeed, without facing any kind of discrimination. Even though the district is remote, he urged the children to aim high and excel internationally.

    Jhansi Lakshmi, Regional Joint Director (RJD), advised the children to set personal goals, overcome societal superstitions, and work towards achieving great things. She also mentioned that knowing their rights would help children get legal support when needed.

    Sirisha, the District Welfare Officer, encouraged children to embrace the legacy of Sammakka-Saralamma and be brave in society. District Child Protection Officer J. Omkar spoke about the various child protection services available in the district.

    Children who had shown talent at the district, state, and national levels in different fields were honored during the event. The children made the event lively with their speeches, games, and songs. Posters designed to raise awareness about children’s rights were also unveiled under the supervision of the district child protection unit.
