The Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITY) project is gaining significant momentum as authorities work to address the city’s growing traffic congestion. On Friday, City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, IPS, conducted a field-level inspection of the steel flyover construction at Mugdha Junction on Banjara Hills Road No. 2. He was accompanied by representatives from GHMC, Mega Engineering Company, and senior police officials during the site visit.

Speaking after the inspection, Commissioner Sajjanar explained that the construction works are aimed at introducing a signal-free road system across the city. He revealed that a total of seven flyovers and underpasses will be constructed over the next two years, particularly around KBR Park, to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement. The project is being executed in a phased and planned manner through coordination between GHMC, the state government, and the police machinery to minimize public inconvenience.

As part of the immediate construction schedule, work on six pillars commenced on Friday night on the route from Mugdha Junction towards KBR Park. The Commissioner clarified that all intensive construction activities will be carried out exclusively during nighttime hours to avoid disrupting daytime traffic flow. He assured that only minor inconvenience would occur on the road until foundation works are completed, after which normal vehicle movement will resume.

The Commissioner emphasized that once this prestigious project reaches completion, the KBR Park surroundings will be fully transformed into signal-free junctions. This transformation will enable safer and faster travel to the city’s central, eastern, and western areas. The infrastructure upgrade is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve overall traffic management in these heavily congested zones.

Commissioner Sajjanar advised vehicle users to plan their travel time in advance and urged maximum use of public transport to avoid congestion. He stated that authorities will monitor the situation closely during the first two or three days after works begin and make necessary route changes as required.

The police department will issue fresh traffic advisories from time to time to keep the public informed about route changes and restrictions. The Commissioner appealed to vehicle users and the general public to cooperate with authorities during this period, emphasizing that these works are essential for the city’s development and future traffic management.
