Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Eco Hill Park at Kothwalguda and laid the foundation stone for the Radial Road-2 interchange connecting to Budwel Layout. The new interchange aims to strengthen road connectivity and improve urban infrastructure in the region. During the event, the Chief Minister toured the park facilities and reviewed the development work undertaken at the site.
Speaking at the inauguration, CM Revanth Reddy stated that Hyderabad is one of the most beautiful cities in the country and has the potential to become a world-class city if governed with vision and commitment. He expressed concern that despite the city’s scenic beauty, many filmmakers still travel abroad for movie shootings. The Chief Minister asserted that there is no city in the country more beautiful than Hyderabad and that the government is determined to enhance its global stature.
The Chief Minister recalled the contributions of former Chief Ministers Chandrababu Naidu and Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who brought Krishna and Godavari river waters to Hyderabad, significantly strengthening the city’s water supply. He also noted that during the Nizam era, renowned engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya designed and implemented flood-control measures on the Musi River. The Nizam administration also planted medicinal plants in the Vikarabad region.
Highlighting the city’s rich heritage, CM Reddy said Hyderabad is home to several historic landmarks such as Osmania Hospital, Golconda Fort, and the State Assembly building, which stand as symbols of its glorious past. However, he expressed concern that Hyderabad has been affected by encroachments and garbage accumulation over the years. He said the government is committed to restoring the city’s beauty and transforming it into one of the greatest cities in the world.
The Chief Minister stated that public representatives were sent abroad to study international models of urban development so that Hyderabad can adopt best practices in city planning. Referring to the development of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, he said the project initially faced opposition, but today it has become a major asset for the city and the state. He emphasized that no one wants to live in the polluted conditions of the Musi River and reiterated the government’s plan to develop a Musi Riverfront. Along the riverbanks, a night-time economy will be created to generate employment and boost economic activity.
CM Reddy announced that Shamshabad will emerge as a Bullet Train hub, with proposed high-speed rail connectivity from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, Amaravati, and Chennai. He acknowledged that new development projects sometimes create difficulties for certain communities but assured that the government will not abandon those affected. People who lose land or houses due to development projects will be fully supported, and comprehensive rehabilitation and facilities will be provided to displaced families.
The Chief Minister said Hyderabad will be developed to compete with major global cities, and leading international companies are showing interest in investing in the city. He mentioned that companies associated with global leaders such as Donald Trump and Elon Musk are exploring opportunities to come to Hyderabad. Reiterating the government’s welfare initiatives, he said ration cards have been issued to the poor and fine rice is being supplied through the public distribution system. Under the Indiramma schemes, houses will be constructed for the poor on government lands within their respective constituencies.
Legislative Council Chief Whip Mahender Reddy, MPs Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Mallu Ravi, MLAs Prakash Goud and Mal Reddy Ranga Reddy, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, and the Collector of Ranga Reddy District participated in the event.
