Jogulamba Gadwal District Collector, B.M. Santosh, has instructed medical staff to always be available and enhance healthcare services at Primary Health Centres (PHCs). He visited the PHC–Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Upperu village, Dharur Mandal, on Tuesday for an unexpected inspection.
During his visit, the Collector examined hospital records like attendance, delivery, and stock registers, urging staff to keep them complete and accurate. He checked outpatient and inpatient numbers to evaluate the hospital’s efficiency and emphasized that medical staff should maintain punctuality and be present at all times.
He highlighted the need for public trust in government healthcare and suggested raising awareness about available facilities. He encouraged conducting normal deliveries in public hospitals and increasing institutional deliveries.
To improve maternal care, he advised preparing a delivery calendar based on each pregnant woman’s due date. He promised to soon provide an ambulance for emergencies and stressed the timely availability of necessary medical facilities.
With the monsoon season in progress, he directed health officials to prevent seasonal diseases. He instructed the pharmacist to ensure constant availability of medicines and manage stocks properly.
He also emphasized that vaccinations must follow the immunization schedule strictly. Medical staff were urged to work with dedication to enhance healthcare quality in the area.
The inspection included District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Siddappa and doctors Raju, Krishnaveni, along with other health staff.
