Khammam: District Collector Anudeep Durishetty reassured farmers that there is an adequate supply of fertilisers and urea in the district.
The administration has ensured a steady supply of necessary agricultural products, so farmers don’t face shortages.
Recently, the Collector conducted a surprise visit to the Visala Cooperative Credit Society Fertiliser Sales Centre in Karepalli, Singareni Mandal. He checked the stock records, distribution logs, and land details of farmers receiving fertilisers.
He spoke with farmers and promised that the government is dedicated to their needs, preventing any false shortages.
“We have over 3,000 metric tonnes of urea in stock, with an additional 2,500 metric tonnes arriving in two days. This will cover the district’s needs until the end of August,” stated Collector Durishetty.
He warned against hoarding or unauthorized bulk buying, instructing officials to distribute urea based on actual crop area. “Any breach of this policy will lead to strict action against involved staff,” he cautioned.
The Collector advised farmers to avoid panic buying, urging them to purchase only what is necessary. Regular supplies are maintained through cooperation with state officials, including the Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Ministry.
“A request for more urea has been sent to the state government for next month, ensuring no disruption for Khammam farmers,” he mentioned.
To stop illegal transport of urea to other states, tight security is enforced at border checkpoints, monitored by revenue and police departments.
All fertiliser sales are conducted online, ensuring transparency and traceability.
