Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has defended the redesign of the Telangana Thalli statue, saying it represents the sacrifices of the state’s farmers, laborers, and rural women. TPCC official spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin spoke about the new design during a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.

He praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for making an inclusive decision after consulting a variety of opinions. Nizamuddin contrasted this with the previous statue, which he claimed was created through a unilateral approach by KCR. He described the new statue as a symbol of perseverance, which he said reflects the true spirit of Telangana. “Congress respects Telangana’s soul, while BRS disrespects it for political gains,” Nizamuddin stated.

The spokesperson also accused BRS leaders of lacking creative solutions and instead copying Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s approach. He highlighted Rahul Gandhi’s efforts to protest in Parliament against the alleged Modi-Adani nexus. “While Rahul Gandhi is fearlessly exposing the Modi-Adani alliance, BRS leaders are resorting to empty slogans like ‘Adani-Revanth Bhai Bhai,’” Nizamuddin said.
