Hyderabad: On Friday, Justice K Lakshman of the Telangana High Court asked Terra Rajnikanth Reddy, the State Additional Advocate-General, to inform the court about the government’s decision on investigating the illegal changes and sales of Bhoodan lands. These lands, totaling 10.17 acres, are located in Nagaram village within the Maheshwaram mandal of Ranga Reddy district.
The request came during the review of a case filed by Vadthya Ramulu. He claims to be the rightful owner of the lands, which were allegedly sold using fake documents. Ramulu’s lawyer stated that the lands, registered at SRO Ibrahimpatnam, were a gift from Ramulu’s late father, Jamala. However, fraudulent sales led to influential IAS and IPS officers having their names added to official records and obtaining Pattadar passbooks. Despite appealing to the Chief Secretary for an investigation, Ramulu received no reply, prompting him to file the case.
Another related case (No. 12637/2025) also involves Ramulu, who is upset with officials from the Revenue, Registration, CCLA, and other departments. These officials are accused of wrongly transferring the Bhoodan lands to high-ranking officers and their families. Previously, Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy had ordered the Revenue department to stop any further land sales.
After considering the arguments from Ramulu’s lawyer and Rajnikanth Reddy, Justice Lakshman instructed the court to combine both cases for future proceedings. The next hearing is scheduled for July 28.
