Gadwal: Upper Narasimha, a member of the CPM district committee, has called for urgent action from district electricity officials to safeguard the public by installing protective barriers around town transformers. On Thursday, he conducted a survey in Ganjipet to assess the challenges faced by local residents.
Narasimha pointed out several issues during his visit:
- Transformers near Ganjipet Park and close to advocate Venkatayya’s house lack protective barriers, creating a significant danger.
- The electric pole in front of Pedda Venkanna’s house is in poor condition. Although a new pole arrived a year ago, it has not been installed.
- Power lines running from the Shivalayam to Dubbanna’s house are alarmingly close to homes. Residents have asked for these lines to be converted to single-phase for safety reasons.
- Locals reported frequent breakdowns of the borewell near Estheramma’s house and requested a water storage tank.
- The main road from Prince Lodge to the water tank has no streetlights, causing difficulties at night.
- The SC Community Hall is unfinished.
- Families living in huts near Prince Lodge lack internal roads, streetlights, and clean drinking water.
- Overgrown plants in vacant areas have led to a rise in mosquitoes and dangerous insects. Poor mosquito control measures are causing health issues.
- A shortage of sanitation workers is disrupting the town’s cleanliness.
- Many eligible people are still not receiving old-age and widow pensions.
- In the Shivalayam area, roads disturbed for Mission Bhagiratha pipelines remain unrepaired, causing inconvenience.
- The open drainage from the Anganwadi center to a grocery shop is uncovered, posing a risk to children.
- Municipal authorities are not maintaining public water tanks regularly.
- Roads and streetlights near Sathya Sai Degree College are incomplete.
- The road from Navarang Talkies to the dam is uneven, with rainwater collecting near the drainage.
Narasimha called on officials from all relevant departments to address these issues promptly to ensure public safety and improve community facilities.
The survey and press meeting was attended by Ramakrishna, Majjiga Anjaneyulu, Krishna, Bhaskar, Narasimhulu, and Krishna.
