Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have achieved a major success by recovering 310 lost or stolen mobile phones in just 30 days, with a total value of around ₹95 lakh. These phones were returned to their rightful owners on Monday at the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

The recovery was made possible using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. This platform helps track and block stolen phones across India, including all States and Union Territories.

This marks the 7th phase of the mobile recovery drive led by the Cyberabad Police. DCP Crimes LC Naik shared a breakdown of how many phones each local unit recovered:

Many recipients expressed their appreciation and relief after getting their phones back. For some, it meant recovering personal memories, important contacts, and sensitive data.

DCP Naik urged citizens to report lost phones immediately, either at the nearest police station or through the CEIR portal. He stressed that smartphones often contain vital personal information and warned that recovered phones can help prevent cyber fraud and unauthorized use.

He also advised people to avoid clicking on suspicious links and to stay alert to online scams. Despite increased awareness, many phone users still don’t know how to protect their data after a phone is lost or stolen.
