Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police have achieved a major success by recovering 310 lost or stolen mobile phones in just 30 days, with a total value of around ₹95 lakh. These phones were returned to their rightful owners on Monday at the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

The recovery was made possible using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. This platform helps track and block stolen phones across India, including all States and Union Territories.

    CCS Medchal: 55 phones

Many recipients expressed their appreciation and relief after getting their phones back. For some, it meant recovering personal memories, important contacts, and sensitive data.

DCP Naik urged citizens to report lost phones immediately, either at the nearest police station or through the CEIR portal. He stressed that smartphones often contain vital personal information and warned that recovered phones can help prevent cyber fraud and unauthorized use.

He also advised people to avoid clicking on suspicious links and to stay alert to online scams. Despite increased awareness, many phone users still don’t know how to protect their data after a phone is lost or stolen.

To boost safety, the DCP recommended installing CCTV cameras in neighborhoods and community areas.

One recipient, a delivery worker, shared his story: “I lost my phone during a delivery two months ago. I filed a complaint, and soon after, the police called to say they’d found it. I’m very thankful for their quick work.”

Another woman said, “I lost my phone six months ago and the police got it back. Then it was stolen again two months ago, and I didn’t think I’d see it again. But I reported it, and once again, the Cyberabad Police returned it. I’m so grateful for their effort.”

DCP Naik praised the teams from CCS, IT Cell, and Social Media units for their excellent work in recovering the phones and helping so many people.
