Text Size: 100%

The government is making changes to school buildings to make them more accessible for children with special needs. The Public Works Department will be adding features like tactile paths, ramps, and Braille signage in schools like RSKV Patparganj, SKV Ghazipur, and Government Girls Senior Secondary School No 3 Badarpur. The department has already begun accepting bids for the work, which will take between one to three months to complete.

For example, the school in Badarpur will have tactile paths inside and outside, ramps with proper slope and double handrails, accessible parking and reception, accessible toilets, staircase with colour contrast strips and double height handrails, accessible drinking water facility, and signage boards with Braille. The same changes will be made in other schools in east, southeast, and south districts.
