Junior panchayat secretaries (JPS) in the state of Hyderabad have been on strike for 12 days. Despite warnings from the government and a deadline to return to work by 5 pm on Tuesday, the JPS have continued their strike. There are approximately 9,000 JPS involved in the strike, and their leaders have stated that they will not stop until their demand for regularisation of services is met.

The Panchayat Raj Minister, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, tried to hold discussions with the JPS leaders to find a solution to the impasse, but so far, the strike has not been resolved.
