In Rangareddy, with ongoing rains, district officials are checking primary health centers and hostels to prevent seasonal illnesses. District Collector C Narayan Reddy and his team made an unannounced visit to the Community Health Centre in Shamshabad on Thursday. They checked the availability of medicines and the facility’s condition.
The Collector emphasized cleanliness around the hospital and the need for sufficient medicines. He assessed the medical services and checked if there were enough staff to handle therapeutic tasks. He asked for a report on any additional staff requirements.
During his visit, the Collector reviewed the staff attendance and spoke with patients about their treatment. He stressed the importance of having all necessary medicines to treat patients promptly and stop the spread of diseases. He also inquired about the number of outpatients and inpatients at the center.
Seeing water accumulation issues, the Collector ordered the officials to improve drainage and clean the area. The medical officer mentioned the lack of water for dialysis treatment. The Collector instructed the municipal commissioner to resolve this in a week.
Medical Officer Durgalatha, Shamshabad Municipal Commissioner Suman Rao, and other officials attended the visit. The day before, the Collector visited the Jyotirao Phule BC Welfare and SC Girls’ Hostel in Maheshwaram. He checked food supplies and sanitary conditions.
During this inspection, he checked the storage of grains and vegetables and the dining area. He tasted the food and was unhappy with the buttermilk quality. He told officials to clean storage and student rooms regularly and maintain clean toilets.
