Domestic violence survivor moved to Sakhi centre

Nagarkurnool: A woman from Telkapally mandal was reportedly being mistreated by her husband and his family. She had married him for love, but was now facing physical abuse.

People who saw the incident quickly contacted the Women Helpline number 181. In response, staff from the Sakhi Centre and the Telkapally police went to the location to help.

The woman was rescued and taken to the Sakhi Centre in Nagarkurnool. There, she was given a safe place to stay and care.

Officials said they will now arrange counselling sessions with the woman’s family members. This is to help solve the problem peacefully and to make sure she stays safe and well.
