Karimnagar to Welcome Electric RTC Buses
Karimnagar is preparing for a significant upgrade in its public transport system. Starting from Sunday, electric RTC buses will begin operations in the region. Karimnagar will become the second city in Telangana, after Hyderabad, to introduce electric buses. The Karimnagar RTC region has been allotted 70 electric buses, out of which 35 have already arrived.
These modern buses come with advanced features for passenger comfort. While driving the buses will be handled by RTC drivers, maintenance and other technical responsibilities will be managed by JBM Company. The drivers have received special training to ensure they operate the buses smoothly and safely.
The buses will operate from two depots in Karimnagar. To support the electric buses, 14 charging points have been installed, and new 11 KV power lines have been set up to ensure a reliable power supply.
These buses will connect Karimnagar to important places like Hyderabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Jagtial, Kamareddy, Manthani, and Godavarikhani. RTC officials are hopeful that passengers will appreciate these eco-friendly buses. Karimnagar RTC Regional Manager Sucharita confirmed that all preparations are complete for the launch. The buses will officially be inaugurated on Sunday by District In-charge Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, BC and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and RTC Managing Director Sajjanar.
