Hyderabad: Fear of complications often stops people from getting hair transplants, laser treatments, and facial cosmetic surgeries, despite recent advances in medical aesthetics. During the two-day SafePlast-2025 conference at T-Hub, more than 120 plastic surgeons and dermatologists from across India and abroad gathered to discuss ways to make these procedures safer.
Dr. Sanjay Parashar, a well-known plastic surgeon from Dubai, warned that even with all efforts, aesthetic surgeries have risks. He stated, “Complications can still happen despite careful work. Proper training is crucial, not just textbook knowledge. Procedures like liposuction, facial corrections, and hair transplants need utmost care.” He emphasized preventing infections and ensuring patient satisfaction as key priorities.
Dr. Gurukarna Vemula, Managing Director of Personix Cosmetics & Plastic Surgery Centre, advised patients to check doctors’ qualifications before any treatment. He said, “Look for recognized degrees such as MBBS, MD, MCh, and state medical council registration. Avoid untrained practitioners, as poorly done hair transplants, Botox, and laser treatments can cause infections and other issues.”
