Forged Certificate Prompts Complaint from Kerala Government College

The principal of Maharaja’s Government College in Kerala filed a complaint after discovering that a former student had applied for a teaching position at a government college in Wayanad using a fake certificate. The former student, K.Vidya, completed her MA in Malayalam from Maharaja’s College in 2018. The principal of the government college in Wayanad contacted them regarding a candidate applying for the position of Guest Lecturer in Malayalam. However, it was discovered that the college had not requested the services of a guest professor in the Malayalam department in the previous ten years. Upon reviewing her experience certificate, it was found to be fake and a police report was filed against Vidya.

After receiving her Master’s, Vidya enrolled at the Sanskrit University in Kalady, where she earned her M.Phil. She was also a prominent SFI student activist at the time. According to Mohammed Shiyas, the president of the Ernakulam district Congress committee, Vidya is a personal acquaintance of a current prominent SFI office-holder. It has since been revealed that Vidya lectured at government colleges in Kasaragod and Palakkad while using a false certificate.
