The Cyberabad EOW police in Hyderabad arrested a former Amazon employee for stealing Rs 3.22 crore. Mettu Venkateshwarlu, who worked as a Senior Financial Operational Analyst-Payroll at Amazon Development Centre, transferred the money to different accounts. He was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Venkateshwarlu’s job was to handle payroll activities for Amazon employees. However, he and his accomplices created fake emails and bank statements to divert money meant for ex-employees into their own accounts. They managed to steal Rs 3.2 crore between 2016 and 2023.
