Hyderabad – Police from the LB Nagar Special Operations Team, working with Hayathnagar police, arrested four Rohingya nationals and their four children for living in India illegally. The group had also obtained Indian identity documents using fake information.
The people arrested are Mohammed Arman (also known as Syed Ul Amin, aged 32), his wife Mohammed Rumana Akther (also called Mustaquima, aged 26), along with Mohammed Nayeem (alias Hairul Amin, aged 20), and Mohammed Haris (alias Mohammed Rizwan, aged 33). Two others, Ayaz and Shoaib Malik, are still on the run.
Police recovered several fake documents from the suspects. Officials said the group used forged papers to falsely claim Indian citizenship. They managed to get Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, voter ID cards, driving licenses, and opened bank accounts by misrepresenting their identity.
Investigations revealed they had crossed into India from Myanmar back in 2011. By 2014, they had acquired Aadhaar cards using false declarations. These fraudulent activities allowed them to stay in the country illegally for years.
A case has been filed at Hayathnagar Police Station in Rachakonda, charging them with forgery, cheating, and providing false information to government officials. The charges also include harming the integrity of the nation.
Police arrested the group on May 20 and presented them in court. They are now in judicial custody. Authorities are continuing the search for the two missing suspects.
