Hyderabad: Four young men from India, including three from Telangana and one from Andhra Pradesh, were recently rescued from a cyber fraud center in Myanmar. They were tricked into going there with the promise of high-paying jobs in Bangkok but were forced to work in cybercrime instead.
The rescue happened after Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave directions and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar took special steps to bring them back to India.
One of the victims, Rakesh Reddy from Koheda in Hayatnagar mandal, Rangareddy district, shared his experience. He said a man named Yash Nath Goud from his area promised him a good job in Bangkok. Rakesh was then taken to another person, Vamsi Krishna, in Jagityal, who claimed the job was just 200 kilometers from Bangkok.
However, once he reached the location, Rakesh was forced to work 16 hours a day in cybercrime. He said they were not given food if they refused to work. After five months, when he resisted, Chinese authorities took away his passport and tortured him. He said they even called the army and got them arrested for entering the country illegally.
Rakesh also mentioned that he later found out Bandi Sanjay had helped many others return from Myanmar. After his father, Yadi Reddy, wrote a letter asking for help, Bandi Sanjay quickly responded. He contacted the Ministry of External Affairs and took all the steps needed to bring them back home safely.
