Gadwal celebrated the 79th Independence Day with enthusiasm at the Police Parade Grounds on Friday. E.P. Jithender Reddy, Government Special Representative and Advisor for Sports Affairs, raised the National Flag and received the guard of honor.
Jithender Reddy spoke about the government’s dedication to welfare and development. He highlighted key initiatives in agriculture, housing, healthcare, women’s welfare, and employment.
Since June, 1,64,357 ration cardholders have received 11,163 metric tons of free fine rice. The government has waived crop loans totaling ₹513.99 crore for 58,113 farmers. Under Indiramma Rythu Bharosa, ₹9,000 crore has been deposited into farmers’ accounts. A bonus of ₹500 per quintal was given for 95,378 metric tons of paddy purchased in the district.
The Aarogyasri health coverage limit increased to ₹10 lakh, providing ₹27.63 crore in medical services to 10,723 people. Construction of the new Osmania Hospital, costing ₹2,700 crore, and improvements to district medical facilities are progressing.
The Mahalakshmi program offers free RTC bus travel for women, saving ₹77.26 crore in the Gadwal district. Statewide, 60,000 jobs have been filled through the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC).
The government is planning for “Telangana Rising 2047,” with goals of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and $3 trillion by 2047.
School students performed cultural shows, adding vibrancy to the event. Outstanding officials received commendation certificates.
Earlier, District Collector B.M. Santosh raised the National Flag at the Integrated District Offices Complex and honored freedom fighters.
The celebration included participation from MLAs Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy and Vijayudu, senior police and civil officials, public representatives, and students.
