The State Government has sanctioned revised funds for the Jawahar Nettempadu Lift Irrigation Project in the Alampur constituency, allocating ₹2,739 crore as per G.O.Rt.No.149 on 31.07.2025. This decision aims to deliver a consistent water supply to thousands of farmers, enhancing existing irrigation systems and introducing new opportunities in the area.

This approval is the result of persistent advocacy by MLC Challa Venkatrami Reddy and Alampur MLA Vijayudu. Their efforts were instrumental in moving the project forward, bringing relief to local farmers who see this as a significant step in solving their irrigation issues.

Key Improvements with the Revised Estimates:

  1. Link Channel from Chinnonipalle Reservoir to RDS Canal (D-12 at Sindhanur) – ₹50 Crore

A new channel will link the Chinnonipalle Reservoir to the RDS Canal at D-12 in Sindhanur. This ensures water availability even if the upstream RDS Canal faces delays, addressing long-standing water shortages for farmers relying on D-12.

  1. Completion of Canal Works in Packages 99, 100, 101, 105, and 106

Finishing these canal works will create about 32,000 acres of new irrigation areas in Itikyala, Manopad, Vaddepalli, and Aiza mandals. This will guarantee water for more farmland, benefiting numerous farming families.

Local farmers are thrilled about the approval, believing that stabilizing the existing RDS irrigation and adding 32,000 acres of new land will revolutionize agriculture in the Alampur constituency. They expressed their gratitude to Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, MLC Challa Venkatrami Reddy, and MLA Vijayudu for securing this government support.

Leaders emphasized that this project marks a significant development for Alampur’s farming sector. Reliable irrigation will decrease dependency on unpredictable rainfall, enhance crop yields, and improve rural livelihoods.
