Hyderabad: The State government has decided to maintain the current fee structure for private unaided professional colleges this academic year. This comes amid pressure from these colleges concerning fee reimbursement. On Monday, the government referred to the recommendations made by the Telangana Academic and Fee Regulations Committee (TAFRC) at their meeting on June 18.
The government highlighted that the TAFRC noted discrepancies between the colleges’ fee proposals for 2025-28 and the guidelines from the Supreme Court and High Court. TAFRC suggested forming a committee to review these parameters for fee setting, considering practices from other states and court orders.
Until the committee completes its review, TAFRC advised keeping the fee rates set for 2022-25. Consequently, the government announced that the fees for Diploma, UG, and PG courses for the 2025-26 academic year will remain unchanged from the 2022-25 period.
In other news, the government appointed State Education Secretary Dr. Yogita Rana as the acting Vice Chancellor for the newly established Earth Sciences University of Telangana in Kothagudem.
