Nagarkurnool: The gynaecology department of the district General Hospital achieved a significant milestone by successfully handling 25 deliveries in a single day. This remarkable accomplishment was led by Professor Dr. Neelima, the Head of the gynaecology department, who, along with her team, has been providing exceptional care to pregnant women. Over the past few days, they have been conducting over 20 deliveries daily, with 75% of them being normal deliveries.
The team’s expertise also extends to handling complex cases. On Friday, they performed surgeries on three pregnant women who had low platelet counts, a condition that added to the challenge. Despite these difficult circumstances, the team managed to deliver the babies safely.
Dr. Neelima explained that these cases were especially complicated because the women experienced sudden labour pains, leaving no time for referrals. After consulting with the hospital superintendent, Dr. Raghu, the team decided to proceed with surgeries to save both the mothers and their babies.
Dr. Neelima also highlighted the hospital’s commitment to providing quality care to pregnant women. She encouraged women to visit the hospital regularly for check-ups and to follow doctors’ advice on diet and exercise. She reassured that the hospital prioritizes normal deliveries whenever possible and dismissed any misconceptions about the services provided.
To further support pregnant women, the hospital has established a dedicated awareness team. This team is focused on offering information and guidance to ensure that women are both mentally and physically prepared for childbirth.
