Hyderabad: The Telangana Government is preparing to introduce the ‘Bala Bharosa’ scheme soon. This new program aims to provide emergency medical care for children under five. Panchayat Raj Minister Dhanasri Anasuya, also known as Seethakka, shared this news during a video call with district collectors on Monday.
The ‘Bala Bharosa’ initiative will cover all essential medical tests and surgeries for young children at no cost. Seethakka stressed the importance of government schools and Anganwadi centres, which serve many disadvantaged children. She emphasized, “Telangana will thrive only when Anganwadis and government schools are robust. Their influence determines the future of Telangana. Prioritize them.”
The Minister also discussed progress in providing school uniforms. Women’s groups are sewing uniforms for government school students, with about 90% of this year’s work finished. She promised uniforms would be ready on the first day of school, unlike before when they arrived late.
As Anganwadis reopen on June 11, Seethakka asked collectors to check their management in advance. “For the first time, Anganwadis had holidays,” she noted, urging inspections of the buildings by field staff. She encouraged enrolling children in Anganwadis and making them comparable to private play schools by ensuring amenities like drinking water, electricity, and toilets. The ‘Amma Maata Anganwadi Batha’ program, launching on June 11, should be successful. She also directed that old Anganwadi centres move to nearby government buildings and announced plans to build 1,000 new Anganwadi facilities, with land selection starting immediately.
Additionally, the Minister highlighted the Indira Mahila Shakti program, a key initiative by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Collectors should aim to make one crore women millionaires. Strengthening women’s groups is crucial for the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ vision. Collectors should help women’s groups set up solar plants and petrol stations, finding necessary land and starting work.
With solar plants scheduled to launch on October 2, the Minister urged collectors to focus on meeting this goal. Agreements with solar companies have been made district-wise, and work on these plants should begin in collaboration with them. The construction of Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavans in 22 districts should finish by November, and she pushed for faster work with Panchayati Raj Engineering Department officials.
