Hyderabad: All hospitals in the city — both government and private — are fully ready to handle medical emergencies. They have enough beds, medicines, medical supplies, blood units, and power backup to respond quickly if a crisis occurs.
This update came during a key review meeting on “Health System Preparedness in Emergencies” held on Monday at the Secretariat. Officials checked if hospitals have the necessary drugs, diagnostic materials, and emergency tools to manage sudden health situations.
To improve readiness, the Government of India is hosting a series of online training sessions for healthcare workers. These webinars focus on boosting essential skills like trauma care and infection control. Medical staff across the state are actively attending these sessions to stay sharp and updated.
To ensure quick response, control rooms have been set up at the state and district levels. These centers receive emergency calls and quickly inform the right teams to take action.
The meeting was led by Health Secretary Christina Z Chongthu. Other key participants included Y Nagi Reddy, Director General of Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services, and top officials from the Health, Medical, and Family Welfare Department.
Also present were members from the Indian Medical Association, Indian Red Cross, Telangana Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (THANA), and the Telangana Super Specialty Hospitals Association (TSHA).
With strong coordination and skilled staff, Telangana’s healthcare system is prepared to face emergencies with confidence.
