Hyderabad – Police in Bowenpally quickly solved a theft case involving a domestic helper. Within just 24 hours, officers caught the suspect and returned stolen items worth around ₹8.2 lakh.
The accused, Kancharla Suvarna, is 48 years old and comes from Duggirala in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. She had been working as a caretaker for an elderly woman in Anand Nagar, Bowenpally, since December 2024.
On May 3, Suvarna left the house with her bags. Soon after, the family noticed that several gold ornaments were missing. They also discovered that a mobile phone was gone.
The homeowner, Dandibhatla Siva Rama Krishna, filed a complaint with the police. He said Suvarna had gained their trust while caring for his mother-in-law. But during her stay, she took advantage of the situation and stole valuables from their home.
The Bowenpally Crime Team acted fast. They investigated the case and arrested Suvarna the same day. Police recovered 112 grams of gold and the missing mobile phone during the operation.
Officials confirmed Suvarna has a past record involving similar thefts. She had used her position as a domestic worker to commit crimes before.
Thanks to the quick action of the Bowenpally police, the stolen property was returned, and the suspect is now in custody.
