Hyderabad – The city’s Traffic Police Department kicked off a special Road Safety Summer Camp 2025 for children at the Traffic Training Institute in Goshamahal on Monday.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D Joel Davis inaugurated the camp. It’s designed for kids between 10 and 15 years old. The goal is to help young participants understand the importance of traffic rules and road safety in a fun and engaging way.
The camp offers more than just safety lessons. Children will also take part in activities like dance, music, painting, handwriting improvement, and personality development. Organizers hope these sessions will make learning more enjoyable and effective.
While speaking to the children, Joel Davis shared a strong message. He said that in India, more people die from road accidents than in wars. He urged children to always follow safety guidelines and traffic laws. He also encouraged them to share what they learn with their friends and families to spread awareness.
Several key figures attended the launch. These included Traffic DCPs R Venkateshwarlu and N Ashok Kumar, Additional DCP U Ravinder Reddy, ACP D Dhana Laxmi, and Dilip Kumar, who is the Zonal Sales Head for Telangana at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd.
Other supporters of the camp included Saroj Bala from Aryan Dance Academy, Ananth Raj from Raj Events, and various instructors and volunteers who will guide the children throughout the program.
The summer camp is part of the city’s broader effort to reduce road accident deaths by teaching safety from a young age.
